Countdown To Our Miracle.... We are pregnant

7 Weeks to the day Dr. Miles called with news... I was pregnant!!!! The very next day on May 8, 2003 we had our first ultrasound, I heard your heartbeat for the first time and we got your due date ...  December 30th, 2003.

Original scrapbook page.  Unfortunately my scrapbooks are falling apart so I'm starting over again. It's great, I'm adding so much more and my pages are a better quality of work. On the downside it takes me so much longer to do a page.

Dr. Miles office gave me this Pregnancy Calendar above. It has been my favorite gift, I obsess about every moment of my pregnancy reading about how you are growing and changing inside me. Everyday I read the calendar for updates and talk about your small developments. It is very exciting.

7 Weeks: You are growing rapidly and resembles a little tadpole with a head, arm and leg buds, trunk and tail. It is curled up like a comma with its head on its chest. Your head is large in proportion to the rest of your body. (This picture isn't of you, I wish I had one. )

I felt you move today, it was a definite light, bubbling sensation that I've never had before.

The Second Trimester

You're a Boy!!!

Another Ultrasound. Dr. Miles and nurses all agree you are going to be a BIG boy. You are measuring about 2 week ahead in size. Dr. Miles doesn't believe I can go full term if you continue to grow this fast. 

22 Weeks: During the next few weeks you will grow to about 10 inches long and reach half the length you will be at birth.

We have your name...   Ryleigh Joseph Stimmel. We decided to name you after my best friend at the time. Her name was Shauna Leigh, so we came up with Ryleigh.  Your middle name came from your uncle Zach's Middle name and Brother Joe.

November 1, 2003 Nana Reta's Baby Shower for us. It was for dad's side of the family. Lots of great gifts, and food.

The Paulsen's give us a baby shower too on November 2, 2003. It was wonderful and we got lots of gifts. unfortunately we didn't take pictures.  But it was the first time I was introduced into scrap booking. 

Baby Bump. Chris and I had a lot of fun going through all our gifts for Reta, she gone crazy. (Pre-Baby Shower Sept. 27, 2003)

On December 3, 2003, Dr. Miles made a decision that you had to come 9 days early on December 22, 2003. I was so happy, I couldn't wait to meet hold you. On December 11, I went it to see Dr. Miles on December 11th after taking a fall, just to make sure everything was ok. You were perfect but BIG. We decided you needed to come even earlier on December 15th.
