A Day In Down Town Melbourne
One of the things I love about living in a different country is our desire to explore. We try to experience different experiences as much as we can. We also have to explore this city we live in. The truth is I have never lived in a big city. It's so different than the suburbs of Colorado. Here we walk, take trans, or trains in our day to day commutes. Very once in a while we rent a car. Where we live is dense with population. It very culturally diverse. The food is diverse and is different from the way we ate in the US. Even the basic day to day task are different, from grocery shopping, to going to the pharmacy is a new experience. Everything is unfamiliar in some form. But we have embraced this changed.
Lets get lost. I woke up this morning waiting to explore with no plans. I look at Chris and said lets get lost, to place to go, no time to come back home, just let the day take us.
We jumped on the tram and headed forwards the city.
The kids don't mind the tram rides, actually because no car seats and no seat belts. They brought a small toys for entertainment. Ryleigh brought a Ben10 watch and Layden brought a balloon.
There was only a matter of time before the balloon would not be a balloon no more. No to big of the deal because I was sure Chris and I would buy the a gift while we were out.
Ryleigh on the other hand, would entertain himself all day and I would wonder if he took in any of the city's wonders. Ben10 would be played at every stop, every store, and moment of very minute.
I love Layden's age, he loves to cuddle. On the tram Layden loves to cuddle me and talk about the things we see out the window and the place with will visit. He ask to water and animals, of course.
This is our life and if wonderful and blessed. I'm so happy we get this experience together.
The first stop was Dumpling King. Dumpling are one of ours if not our favorite food in Australia. The boys want it everyday. Dad came here with his work mates and thought we would love it. We did. It was yummy.
We walked around the city until we came across the Yarra River. Water... We must stop and take it in for Layden. The kids kicked off their shoes and ran on the grass next to the river. Chris and I enjoyed the relaxation on the moment.
Layden sat on my lad telling about the river and what is in it. Shoes, bikes, trash, and fish. It was funny, yet sad too. Parts of the river you could see the items lost at the bottom of the river. He was curios about the animals in the river and why they like the shoes and bikes.
Layden started thinking about the trash in the river. I could tell he would work out that it wasn't a good thing.
It's any moments with my family I live for. Layden cuddled on my lap, Ryleigh talking to Chris and us together learning, discovering our world.
Dancing.
More discovering to be had.
As we were exploring the city we came across a small street market.
The kids were excited to see mini cup cakes at the street market. The mini cupcakes had a toy koala bears. Layden LOVED it, hugging and kissing it.
We have a full and wonderful day exploring the city. I will never forget the experiences of explore, learning, and making memories with my family.
