A day at the Beach, South of Melbourne
Our family spent the day drive the coast line, making random stops along the way at some very beautiful beaches.
Beach day
I capture a moment when Layden sat on the beach and he watch the ocean. He was still. I wonder what beauty did he see, did he hear.
Ryleigh and Layden first looked for seashells. They would listen to each one, listening for the sound of the ocean. They looked for rocks and feathers. Really anything that wasn't sand, but they collected sand too.
First stop and coffee shop for coffee for Chris and I and Hot chocolate for the boys and of course a sweet.
Fell in love with these flowers.
First beach.
Love this picture of the little guy
As Chris and I get familiar with our new surrounding in Melbourne we get more brave to explore beaches further down closer to the Mornington Peninsula. We rented a car, packed up and took off in the direction of the Mornington Peninsula. We didn't have a destination just a simple desire to explore. Lunch time we stopped off at an amazing Fish and Chip place across from a beach. As we eat the kids talked about play in the sand. It was a colder day, so we warned the beach would be cold and the we wouldn't go into the ocean.
There was this house to dream about. Layden and I talked about what our lives would be like it he lived there. Layden mainly imagined the fresh sushi he would have everyday. I thought about listening to the ocean, and moons reflection in the ocean.
Ryleigh questioned Chris on why the shells where in the sand, and the animals in the shells and where they went. His curious mind ran crazy with questions as they started exploring the sand.
I would ask for a picture and Ryleigh would show off his personality and goof off for the camera
Layden looking up to his brother started in on the fun too.
I brought beach sandals that worked better than I could have expected and was so happy I brought multiple colors.
We couldn't stop them from going into the ocean. They had to allow the water to invite them in. I knew it meant one thing... wet cuddles. But how could I mind, I loved every moment they would cuddle me.
The boys love playing together and Ryleigh would start with his imagination and start a story and Layden would do, or be whatever Ryleigh asked.
Ryleigh really is the sweetest and kindest kid ever. He's funny, and has so many expressions.
Layden trys to copy his brother as he looks up to him.
Digging a hole is so fun if you act like a dog. The only problem is the sand goes everywhere.
Sandcastles. I love building sandcastles, you need to perfect balance of water and sand. As I made mine and boys got excited to try it for themselves.
I can't stop myself from just listening to Ryleigh and Layden talk to each other. Their ideas and plans, their laughter, melts my heart.
Ryleigh took control of the sandcastle and Layden entertain myself next to Ryleigh by goofing around. It made Ryleigh laugh hard and something mess up on this castle.
Layden would get cheeky, and say naughty things like he is going to kick the sandcastle.
Then he would shake his little butt and threaten to poop on it. Ryleigh all long laughed at this brother.
Chris and I watched the boys closely and talked about the ocean's beauty. The ocean was beautiful and the sand was soft. This was a great beach to come across.
We had to take a photo of our feet in the sand.
Ryleigh mashed the sandcastle before Layden had the chance. They laughed hard and repeated in over and over again.
Layden ran into the ocean but quickly realized the ocean was cold.
When the sandballs caused sand in the eyes Ryleigh wanted to stop but Layden was having way to much fun throwing sand.
The boys found the water to be 'just right' to play in. No matter Chirs and I saying it's to cold, they wanted just their feet and hands. I waited until they finally got completely wet and he had to deal with cold crying kids. But we will across that bridge when we get there.
Layden's hands would get cold and I would ask him if I could warm them up but he didn't want to miss a moment with his brother.
My favorite picture of Layden of the day.
He's so happy to be on the beach.
Ryleigh showed us the cool shells he followed.
Layden found his shadow
I asked him to jump on his shadow. He tried for some time before getting upset.
My favorite Picture of Ryleigh of the day.
I finally got Layden to sit down and talk to my. He told me about the ocean and about how much he loved it. How he wanted to live on the ocean 'swimming pool'. And eat sushi.
After a short chat he was back at playing with Ryleigh. This time he would eat Ryleigh because he is a Zombie.
Ryleigh was focused on what he might fine on the beach. He would run over and show us a shell and talk about the texture. 'Look it's so soft.' or 'Look at the colors'. After showing us he would ask me to keep it safe for him. Looks like we are bring a bag of shells and rocks home with us.
Layden started in on the fun, but his shell where peices of a shell and the small thing he could fine.
A patrol boat passed by. It was bright Yellow and looked every cool. The boys loved watching it and it speeds by.
Chris joined in the fun and asked the boys to take a walk down the beach to see what they could fine.
It was like little ducks.
Layden didn't want to get his shirt wet.
Chris saw a fish and is showing it to Ryleigh.
Layden doens't want me to join them on a walk and says I can't pass this line. It's boys time.
There is a fish. But it didn't show up in the picture maybe it swam a way.
The ocean patterns and color were incredible.
Cuddle Time and little chats about the ocean with Layden. I love this time so very much.
What a picture of me and boys, that just doesn't happen.
The shells I'm keeping safe for Ryleigh.
The weather warmed up and in minutes the beach had lots of visitors.
I pier
Layden't small shoes
Dads sandals
Layden putting sand on my feet
Ryleigh asking if he can go where that kid is.
Yes.
Feet in the ocean. It's cold
Further in the ocean.
Layden got hurt by a shell and is now made and the ocean floor.
Someone is needed a nap or a snack.
A snack.

Chris has the camera
Dance moves to work it.
Layden got back into this jean but made it back in the ocean
Back to making sandcastles
And Ryleigh is in the ocean. Fully. Doesn't matter that it's cold.
And Layden is in the ocean with his jeans on .
happy face, before the kid storm
That is the faces of what is to come
Water for sandcastles
It's so cute. Layden is so cute.
Layden wants dad to hold him and dad wants him to walk to him. Who will win?
Foot prints in the ocean.
Layden won.
Ryleigh has a mind of his own. Exploring, playing, and in his own mind. So independent this one is, just like his daddy.
Ryleigh Cleaning my feet before we leave
Cleaning his body. Trying to keep us here longer.
Friend in the ocean.
The walk to the car. Thank god it's not a long walk.
And we stay Layden is back in his suite and really to play with his new friends.
But will he jump it.
Ryleigh is helping Layden work up the courage to jump in.
Layden wants dad to come with him and no jumping into the ocean to get wet... it's too cold.
Layden wanted to play with his friends until he walked over there and then didnt. Now he just wants his dad to explore with him.
Looks like a feather but hard like a shell, what is it.
Ryleigh tried to get dad to drink the ocean water.
Love this picture of the little guy.
